What is an image resizer?
An image resizer changes pixel dimensions without cropping. You might need to shrink a 6000px DSLR photo for web, make a logo exactly 1080x1080 for Instagram, or reduce a screenshot for faster loading. Our tool does this in your browser with Canvas API, so your file never leaves your device. No upload, no waiting, no privacy risk. Works offline.
JPG vs PNG vs WEBP — which should you choose?
JPG is best for photos and gradients. It compresses well at quality 85-92%. PNG is lossless and keeps transparency and sharp text, perfect for logos. WEBP is modern and 25-35% smaller than JPG at same quality and supported everywhere now. Our resizer lets you resize and convert format in one step.
How to keep quality?
Keep aspect ratio locked unless you want to stretch. Downscaling is safe. Upscaling beyond 200% will look soft because browser must invent pixels. Use quality 92 for JPG — file size drops 60% but visual difference is invisible. For websites, 1920px wide is enough for heroes, 800px for blog, 512px for thumbnails.
Why Aethel?
